OK. This is a looooong caption, so settle in. This shot of Brittany Force on her race-winning Top Fuel pass at the NHRA Fall Nationals yesterday was my last photo from this weekend.

A year ago this month I picked up an (unpaid!) assignment for The Drive because I wanted to try my hand at covering motorsports. The gig was shooting @joshsnowhorn and his friends having fun at COTA.

I fell in love and in the last year I've shot 29 races and track events. I've been fortunate enough to shoot IMSA, IndyCar, World Endurance Championship, NASCAR, NHRA, Pirelli World Challenge, MotoGP as well as countless other series, amateur/club races and private events. And I just found out that this weekend I get to shoot F1, for The Drive, on my home track. I'm living in a crazy dream world.

There are so many people to thank that have helped, supported and taught me along the way (a few of will be tagged in this photo), but I owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to @ericgoeres, @thedrive, @mrmikeguy and @joshua_condon. They got me started on this road and have kept it rolling for me. Thanks, guys. I still have so much more to learn and do, but it’s been an amazing year and I can't wait to see what's next.
